Kathy Chiang, principal of Stratefit Consulting, specializes in Strategic Analytics, Market Data Research and Integrated Business Planning. She is engaged by clients in Telecommunications, Payment Card Processing and Credit Scoring to build and analyze data sets to uncover customer patterns and relationships in business and market data. She is highly experienced in leading edge, big data analytic tools such as Tableau Data Visualization Software (certified), Vertica Analytic Database, SQL (Vertica, Oracle, Microsoft), MicroSoft Analysis Services and Excel (Microsoft Partner).

Business Analysis and Planning Expert

Since 2010, Ms Chiang has worked on successful Analytics projects in Telecommunications (Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago, OpenMobile in Puerto Rico), Payment Card Processing (Elavon) and Credit Scoring (Equifax). She has been engaged to develop and analyze analytic data sets for internal business data, source and analyze external market data and evaluate analytic data sets and processes to support business decisions and find opportunities for improvement.

Ms Chiang has also led over 100 operations management teams through Business Planning workshops to craft strategies that delivered sustained revenue and profit growth in the double digits and in several cases greater than 50%. She helped an international telecommunications provider mine its customer data to identify opportunities to improve revenue and led the management team of a transportation service provider through a business planning war room to revitalize an under-performing line of service. She drove the implementation of a major Product Complexity Management program that delivered $6 million to the bottom line in the first year and worked on business development teams that delivered over $2 billion in successful projects covering business acquisition, start up operations, and service expansion.

Pragmatic Business Experience

Selected for a year-long Lean Training Program, including a study trip to Japan, Ms Chiang is as comfortable on the shop floor as in the board room. With more than 20 years experience in Strategic Planning and Analysis, Ms Chiang has senior management experience in the equipment manufacturing and telecommunications service industries. She served as the Vice President for Business and Operations Planning at Acuity Brands Lighting, a $2 billion lighting fixture manufacturer, working with operations management teams on business improvement projects in the US, Mexico, UK and Spain. She managed Strategy and Business Development teams for BellSouth Corporation (acquired by ATT) in the international unit supporting operations in 11 Latin American countries and China. In addition to working on over $1 billion of business development projects, she established the financial and planning operations for BellSouth China’s $30 million joint venture in Beijing, China. Prior to joining BellSouth, Ms Chiang worked in business development for Portman Overseas, the international real estate development arm for John Portman and Associates in their offices in Atlanta, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Depth and Breadth of Expertise

Ms. Chiang, a native of New Orleans, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, summa cum laude with University honors (4.0), from Louisiana State University, as well as a MBA from Tulane University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Mensa.

Among the first wave of Americans to enter China following normalization of relations, Ms Chiang lived in northeast China under challenging conditions for two years teaching English, learning Mandarin Chinese and traveling extensively throughout China. Over her career, she has worked in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing and is active in the greater Atlanta Chinese community serving on the deacon board for Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North and on the advisory board for the China Research Center.
